Garden of Eden Arboretum
& Botanical Garden

Maui, Hawaii

When Alan’s not composing and recording music he works on other creative projects such as his popular Hawaii tourist destination, The Garden of Eden Arboretum & Botanical Garden located on the island of Maui.

Development of this special project began in 1991 and opened to the public in the fall of 1996.

In 1995 Alan received recognition from the state of Hawaii for his conservation practices and proper land use and development techniques. His goal with this project has been to help restore natural ecosystems and promote Hawaii's native and indigenous species and other endangered specimens.

When Alan first began work on The Garden of Eden there were no ocean views. The whole land was over-run with invasive species including inkberry, guava, swamp mahogony, christmas berry, and kosters curse.

Almost every plant and tree on the property today has been planted and nurtured by Alan and the park now features many exotic specimens from the South Pacific region and tropical rain forests of the world as well as specimens that are both endemic or native to Hawaii.

The park also features the 16 plants introduced by the Polynesians upon their settlement of the islands.  Informative labels on these and many other specimens are a prime and popular feature of the Garden.
The park also contains an archeological remnant of a Hawaiian Culture work site which is preseved by us for your viewing  and photographic opportunity.

It is important that throughout our lives, we as
individuals give back to the earth an equal or
greater amount than what we have consumed.

If we all recycle, plant trees, consume wisely
and contribute generously to environmentally
conscience organizations, we are doing our
part in preserving this beautiful world.

~ Alan Bradbury
